Jidam’s journey began in Seoul, Korea, where her musical talent began to emerge early. After studying at Dongduk University of Music in Korea, she moved to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music.
In 2013, after years of studying Film Scoring in Berklee, Jidam moved to New Work where she'd offered a job in as a media composer and music director, and there released her debut album, collaborating with the most versatile and forward-thinking musicians: Flutes Sarpay Ozcagatay, drummer Jongguk Kim, bassist Changmin Jun, and pianists Mina Yu. In addition, as a special guest for live performances: the legendary Jazz Clarinetist Harry Skoler, one of Jidam’s most admired and respected musical influences.
The recording has been praised by artists and critics. Harry Skoler states: “Jidam is a true artist. Her own orchestral composition, a mixture of Korean traditional music was won the '1st Prize' at the '2018 All Star Artist Festival', and premiered with the Seoul Pops Orchestra, Korea's most famous Pops Orchestra.
Jidam, currently residing in Seoul, Korea, has recently produced and released her follow-up album in 2020. The album features Jidam Band and String Chamber.
